Green Tea Goodness: Why Drink Green Tea

There are many reasons why drinking Green Tea is good for not only your physical health but also your mental health. I know some people aren't big tea drinkers and some are set on their favorite tea, but I implore you to take a leap of faith and try some Green Tea. Here are several reasons why drinking Green Tea elevates your physical and mental health.
1. It is a happy drink:  This tea contains theanine which is the "feel-good" amino acid. This amino acid reduces stress which makes you calm and happy. There have been studies that show a synergistic link between caffeine and theanine. Some people may need more than one cup to feel the theanine kick in, while others may only need a small dose to get the full feel-good effect!
2. It is heart healthy: There are many studies that show that Green Tea is good for the heart. One hypothesis is that tea helps the body to expel rather than store fats and cholesterol. There is actually a Chinese study that shows that regular green tea drinkers had about 50% less chance of having high blood pressure.
3. It is a skinny drink: Green tea helps with weight control and may actually boost the metabolism and help the body use more fat for energy.
4. It is cold fighting:  No one likes being sick, and if you have kids you know how many germs they are packing from being being around other sick children. Drinking just a few cups of green tea can help you stay healthier in cold season.
5. It might reverse a bit of the damage from your vices: While I do not condone smoking as the adverse health effects are great, there have been test that show that  lots of green tea can somewhat mitigate the damages caused by non-extreme cigarette smoking.
6. It is HYDRATING:  Crazy!! You would think that drinking a ton of tea would dehydrate you, when in fact it actually hydrates you! The European Journal Of Clinical Nutrition discovered that green tea is actually hydrating, and stated that it was better to drink than water!  I can't agree that it is better to drink than water, but it is good to know I have options!!
7. It is packed with antioxidants: Now this is neat! An antioxidant known as catechins is found in Green Tea. These antioxidants have been associated with a decreased risk of many cancers

8. It wakes you up & helps your brain:  Green Tea has the ability to protect your mind to a degree, and may just improve your memory.  Atop all that, scientists are now exploring ways that green tea can help patience with Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s to repair brain cells.

If you are looking for a way to become healthier, more focused, and happier I think this blog sums up a way to do that! Obviously you need to exercise and eat right for green tea to be fully effective. In my opinion, you only have one body, treat it right! Green tea can help you do that!
