Just in time for fall . . .

Kid Friendly Paleo Chocolate Chili

Prep 20 min Cook 2-3 hours Serves 6-8
2 tablespoons coconut oil
1 medium onions, diced (about 1 cup)
4 cloves garlic, minced (about 4 teaspoons)
1 green pepper, diced
2 pounds ground turkey
1 teaspoon dried oregano
2 tablespoons chili powder
2 tablespoons ground cumin
1 1/2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa
1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
1 teaspoon salt
1 can (6 ounces) tomato paste
1 can (14.5 ounces) diced tomatoes
1 can (14.5 ounces) chicken broth
1 cup water
1. Heat a large pot over medium-high heat, then add coconut oil.  When the oil is melted, add onions and garlic until onions are translucent.  Crumble ground turkey into pan, mixing with a spoon to combine.  Cook meat until it's not pink.
2. Add oregano, chili powder, cumin, cocoa, allspice, and salt to pot and stir.  Add tomato paste and stir until combined.
3. Add can of tomatoes, chicken broth, and water to pot.  Stir well.  Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to simmer.  Simmer uncovered for at least two hours.  I have done this on low in the crockpot if I'm not at home and it works great.
