Gluten and Dairy Free Apple Crisp

It's hard to find tasty desserts that are both gluten and dairy free.  This apple crisp is delicious and just in time for the holidays!

Gluten and Dairy Free Apple Crisp


  • 2-4 lbs of any kind of apple
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp powdered ginger
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 3 tbsp lemon juice
  • 3/4 cup gluten free rolled oats
  • 1/3 cup rice flour
  • 1/3 cup coconut oil, melted
  • pinch of salt


  • Grease an 8x8 baking dish
  • Peel, core, and slice apples.  Cover bottom of baking dish at least an inch deep.
  • Combine sugar and spices into a bowl, then fold half of it in with apples in the baking dish along with the lemon juice.
  • Mix the oats, flour, and salt with remaining sugar-spice mixture in the bowl.
  • Fold coconut oil into mixture.
  • Spread topping over apples. 
  • Bake uncovered at 350 degrees F for 45 minutes
