Marriage Devotion - A look at Showing LOVE to your Spouse

Marriage Devotion: Do you REALLY love your spouse?

1 Corinthians 13:4-7

4. Love is patient, love is kind. it does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love Healthy Marriage

We can say that we love our husband/wife, but do we really follow these characteristics of love every day? If you replace love with your name in the verses above, can you say those things are true? Even though we will never be perfect in showing these (only Jesus is), we can still strive to practice this kind of love with our spouses.
My challenge to you today is to pick one characteristic of love from the scripture to focus on showing to your spouse today. If there is one in particular that you struggle with, focus on that one. I encourage you to PRAY about what characteristic you need to work on.

A CHALLENGE for you to consider:
Are there any wrongs that your spouse has done that you are holding onto? When Christ forgives us of our sins, he does not keep a tab of wrongs. We need to strive to be like Christ and forgive our spouse of the wrongs and hurt and then FORGET about it. I know that is easier said than done. But with prayer and allowing God to heal your heart, and to TRULY forgive the hurt, this is possible.

I'd love to hear what characteristic you're working on and how its going! I'd love to support you with prayer.
